Second Update...

Well... I'm destined not to be a blogger! Speak it... I don't have the discipline to update my blog daily.... not even monthly. So, fellows.... don't expect to see regular updates as you will be disappointed.

The first sentence that everyone will ask... "How are you lately / doing?" My answer:

"Life has been good. Never better. Place fully renovated... Now, that's what I call home. And, I've recently scraped my old, poor maintained and tiny Getz and get onto a more family car... Hyundai Avante. No regrets... It's a good ride and it comes with my childhood dream.... a sunroof... haha... No complain about its fuel consumption, in fact it is good!

Job is good. Of course if my boss pays me more... I will be happier! Haha... What I like about the job is.... I get to do marketing / design and sales in a single job. I've not lost my creative genes though... it's still very much in my bloodstream. I also like about business trip aspect of the job. Too bad, so far I've only visited China (Wuxi and Hangzhou) and Malaysia (KL - twice)...

Last but not least.... YEAH... as you may already know... I got my first kid. Her name is Joy Foo... You bet. She's a joyful kid! Her chinese name is 符信祈. Nice? She is a real cutie...

I really consider myself blessed... what more can a guy asked for?

Pretty and domestic-minded wife - checked
A stable income paying job - checked
Nice renovated shelter - checked
Good and decent car - checked
A cute and healthy kid - checked

A nice getaway with family - hmmm.............

Mirror Effect

Mirror

Sometime, I do ponder about why do some Singaporeans are so concern over whether that their “voices” are heard by the authorities. Is this due to liberalization or modernization of the society? Or is it due to influence of foreign culture or media? Or is it due to the limited space that we have and now people feel that they want attention?

First of all, I feel that we are not totally unheard by our government. Hey, don’t get me wrong… I do not belong to PAP or any political party. I just feel that if your views are constructive and helpful to the country, I don’t see why any government body will not take it. However, if it is just some personal opinion, then remember that there are 4 millions such opinions out there.

Ironically, I posted a comment about this issue on one such Singaporean’s blog. Guess what the so called want-to-be-heard person seems to be not ready to hear what others want to say, although he mentioned that I am trained to speak-politically-correct by our government. Is this a mirror reflection of oneself?

Sad to say, I must say history has shown again and again that sometime freedom of speech does not necessary mean betterment of the country. Just as I am watching news about the protest over

Taiwan

President Chen-Sui Bian (sorry, I didn’t watch it over CNA thus the claims that local news brainwashed me does not apply), I have heard the interviews of numerous people. Guess what! They all hold the same remarks. FREEDOM OF SPEECH!

Suddenly, some thought dawned on me… “Is Singaporeans too spoilt by the government?”, “Is it when the younger generation gets more and more educated and prosperous, they have start to forget what we are able to go this far is because our government bring economic stability to the nation so that you have a job and a roof over your head?”

Be grateful you despicable brats….

Side Note...

I always love the following saying…

“ Never argue with idiots! They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with their EXPERIENCE…

Cheers! Have a nice weekend…

Feeling Lost in different life stages?

My dear friends,

I just thought of sharing this with you.

You see… I have progressed through different life stages (haha… makes me sounded so old) and there are always hard decision and choices to make, example wedding preparation, home renovation or like now pregnancy (not me lah… my wife! Although, I look as if I am permanently ‘pregnant.). Well… often as such, I just type in the things that I want to look for and click search and WALA I get information that I need. If not, you can now “google” for it…

But, how about listening or reading on a second person opinion? That is the power of forums! It can make or cause a downfall of a business. *evil grin* Often as such, you get to post review on their services and products and you make your own choice. Nevertheless, beware that some smart lass from the company may post fake reviews as to advertise their services / products. Thus, read on and apply your wisdom in choosing. Like the Chinese said, “eyes must open big big!”

Mai lo so… Below is some of the one that I find helpful. You can contribute if you know of others.

Our Home Renovation Plan

Work_flow Our home renovation is starting soon… There is so many things that I need to think and plan on. Also, there are quite a handful of decisions to make, like choosing of interior designer, design of our place, electrical appliances, sanitary accessories, sofa, lightings, kitchen-ware (hood & hob), movers (to help us shift to our temporary location) and etc… One the left is the workflow plan that is in my mind, waiting to be executed (click to enlarge).

PS: Pray that the child will be healthy and free from any defects or illness.... THANK YOU!

An update of my life

To all my dear friends...

It has been months and years (for some of you) that we have last contact each other. How have you been?

I just have the thought of creating this blog to keep you updated of things happening in my life.

Happily married (18th Feb 2006)

Well, I do believe that there are changes in your walk of life, same for myself. Yes, I have been married for 6 months plus and we things couldn't be rosier for both me and Dion. Well, we do
squabble at times. Which married couple doesn't, right? Thanks to those friends that are present at our wedding. We couldn't thank you enough. Cheers!

My dad left us (11th May 2006)
Shortly after we are married for 3 months, my beloved father left us for a better place. He has been suffering from lung cancer for slightly less than a year and he was called back to be with the Lord on 11th of May 2006. We missed him dearly and that he definitely has left a deep footprint in our hearts.
One of the reason that we have got married that early is also to fulfill his dream to see us walking down the aisle and we are glad to have his presence and blessing in our wedding. He was diagnosed of lung cancer when we are preparing for our wedding.
Dad, We love you and missed you so!

My smoker friends, just a gentle reminder... do take care of your health and if possible... PLEASE QUIT SMOKING.

My mom recieved the Lord

Thank God that my mom has trusted the Lord and now she is a regular attendee at both her cell group and church. However, she has not really get over my dad's dismissal... Now, I just hope to spend more time with her.

Sale & Marketing Engineer, my new job!
After the funeral, I had a month break to accompany my mum. I have always plan to leave my previous company, Sol Electronics and the timing couldn't be better. I left a few days earlier as I need to attend to my dad's funeral and also to be at his side when he is seriously ill. It was when the day my dad passed away, I was offered to a few jobs. One of them is from Performance Motor and the other one is from my current company. It was indeed a tough decision to make but I chose the latter one (as you already know) as I thought that Sales & Marketing is what I always have passion doing. Alas... here I am! I would say so far so good... Well... who knows when that's better opportunity I will move on. Haha... Typical Singaporean!

Home renovation starting soon
Speaking of typical Singaporean... Yes, we have always been sloughing our lives for the roof above our heads. I have just joined the ranks of the group that are working the next 30 years for their home. Haha... Good grieve!

We just went through the 1st HDB appointment on 29th of August 2006 (ironically my dad's birthday) and looking to complete the whole resale transaction of buying over my parents' place (our current home). From then, we will do up our current place. It is gonna be a complete makeover and the family is excited over it. There will be a few weeks of inconvenience for us as we are shifting to a temporary location for the time being. We have chosen the interior designer for the job and we are confident that she will do a good job to it. Anyway, I'll update you on our home during and after the makeover. Stay tuned...

PS: I will do a makeover for this blog too... but bear with me as I am also busy with my work. Cheers.. drop me a note on how you are doing too...
